Our story
We built this because we couldn't sleep.
Not in a cute, restless-entrepreneur way. In a shift-work, blackout-curtains-taped-to-the-wall, alarm-set-for-3 PM kind of way. So we built the product we needed and couldn't find.
70 million Americans have a sleep disorder. 15 million work nights. Their options? A $40 sunrise alarm that can barely light a nightstand, or a list of sleep-hygiene tips they already follow.
The science is blunt: light is the single strongest signal for your circadian rhythm. Not supplements. Not apps. Not blue-light glasses. Light.
So we built something that controls the light in your entire room, total blackout for sleeping, a full-room sunrise for waking, and put it on your schedule, not the sun's.

Wake one person gently, without waking the other.
The team
Two engineers who lived the problem.

Ben Voller-Brown
CEO & Founder · M.S. Mechanical Engineering
Ben designed and patented the SunrAIse system after years of disrupted shift-work sleep took a real toll on his health, and the stubborn conviction that waking up shouldn't feel like an emergency.
Michael Li
COO & Co-Founder · M.S. Biomedical Engineering
Michael brings the healthcare and biomedical side, overseeing product and operations, making sure the science behind the product becomes something people actually want to use every day.
Our mission: let the sun revolve around you.
Put your light environment, and your sleep, back under your control, whatever your schedule demands. Everyone deserves to wake up feeling like a person.
Who it's really for.
Night shift workers
Nurses, doctors, paramedics, truck drivers, anyone forced to sleep when the sun is up and work when it's down. 15 million of them in the US alone.
People in extreme latitudes
Alaska, Scandinavia, northern Canada, where winter is four hours of daylight and summer never gets dark. Your clock has no idea what to do.
Anyone with a sleep disorder
Insomnia, delayed sleep phase, irregular sleep-wake. 70 million Americans, most of whom have already tried everything else.
Wellness-focused people
The crowd that tracks HRV, takes magnesium, owns a cold plunge. This is the sleep upgrade they've been missing.
Better mornings are coming.
